RATING A TEACHER?

According to A. Riga (2007) all countries from around the world are in puzzle of abusing teachers by the Internet. First, students are posting videos and pictures, which are captured by them. They post spewing insults and violence on famous web sites like Face book, You Tube. Second, sometimes it can be happen to an innocent teacher. They are linked with certain issues and they have to bear all these damages, split. Last, this kind of web site may affect a student’s career very badly. It should be prohibited for school.

In this today’s advanced world everyone is free to do what he or she wants. There is freedom in many more ways than before. In this world, we get many facilities in everything with new technology. More usage of technology will create problems sometimes. Technology misuse will increase. There are always two sides of the coin; like that there are positive and negative points of rating teachers by Internet.

First, students misuse their rights. Students capture videos and pictures to abuse their teacher. Write inappropriate words for them, insult them and post that all bad stuff on popular site like Face book, You Tube. ? A. Riga (2007) mentioned “11 students were suspended from a high school in caledon, northeast of Toronto, for sexually explicit, derogatory postings about principal a online.” (para. 3 ). When first time I heard about this site, I was surprised that this could be happened. In my country, we give so much of respect to our teacher, even though he or she might not deserved it. We believe that teacher is divine person. He or she is the medium of knowledge for you.

Second, there are many bad things that are posted. For this part I have done one review. I asked many teachers of mine about this kind of site and they all had the same opinion that there are facts on this site too. One teacher said that she had experienced this fact in choosing her new job outside of country. She read correct information about her new place of job. We can see that by reading 100 people’s opinion about one particular teacher, it makes you think that something was wrong with the teacher, not with the students that posted that article or any stuff. I believe that it is one way to tell good things about your teachers as well as to criticize them, but when he or she is really wrong in some way, but I think that before posting something wrong against him or her, we should tell them that they are wrong in some particular way. So we can get some in between way.

Third, we should ban this kind of site in some area or to get way to come out of this kind of problem. We can make it compulsory for every student that to write something that is their opinion, so it can decrease in some area; because there is not always bad students who write impropriate stuff about their teacher, there are some good students too. This kind of site spoils student’s career, because the bad students are always interested in speaking or writing wrong things about others especially about their teacher. So if the government takes some legal step to prohibit this site in certain areas like in schools or to fix some rules or norms for that, so it will not create that much of a problem.

Last, I would like to conclude that students misuse their rights; there are many facts that are posted, and we should ban this kind of site in some area or to get a way to come out of this kind of problem. Everyone has written about doing what he or she wants but there should be some parameters. You can write for your teachers by Internet with the good things about them and it should be controlled in some way.

Summit on information technology in Tunis.

According to J. Twist (2005) says that the UN summit on the Information society has discussed about the gap of Information technology in the world. Firstly, everyone should have the right to speak. It’s their right. Secondly, It was noticeable the freedom to get information for all civilians. One should have his right to express his feelings and views. Lastly, there was an important issue of Internet fraud, violence, and terrorism by using the Internet. All these events are not enough to create a people oriented information society, and there were not good enough international standards.

In today’s advanced world, information technology is the best way to get information, but every country does not get it equally. There are many differences such as there are technology gap, there is difference between rich and poor country to get it. There is summit to decrease this gap of technology of countries. It states that everyone should have right to speak, freedom of expression and to stop Internet fraud, violence, and terrorism.

Firstly, Everyone should have right to speak. It’s their right. In the summit, there was main talk about freedom of speech. Everyone has the right to say what he or she wants to. If anyone doesn't get the chance to speak, there is no progress. There was no knowledge. You can’t get other’s view. J. Twist (2005) has mentioned, the US delegate expressed his views with disappointment that Tunisian government did not take benefits of the freedom of speech you can’t see the other side of the picture. So you cant have economic progress. Everyone has his or her own right to live life and speak what he or she feels.
Secondly, It was noticeable the freedom to get information for all civilians. In this global world everyone should have right to get the information what he or she want. If we get more information or ideas, there will be progress. Some countries argued that some country is not getting the benefits of information, so people should be aware of all required information, which can help them. However, China’s government says that we want some safety because we don’t want that our people could involve in any kind of criminal acts that can affect on human lives. Furthermore, information could be good or bad, but it’s depending on people how they take it. Government should have some rules to provide information for people, so they can be safe from others countries. Getting the information is the best way to know the world.

Lastly, there was an important issue of Internet fraud, violence and terrorism by using the Internet. Nowadays the cyber crime has increased. There are so many Internet frauds. People do misuse of technology for terrorism, violence and in many activities where they can harm society or anyone. It should be stopped. There should be legal steps against it. Mr. yoshio Utsumi, secretary general of the International Telecommunication Union said “ Freedom in cyberspace is a pre- requisite for an information society.”

Last, I would like to conclude that everyone should have the right to speak, freedom to get information and there should be strong legal action to decrease crime. Everyone should have right to share information. Above all activities are not enough to make a people orientated society; there should be good enough international standards.
